Review workflow
MUSE has a complete review workflow for revising — whether you’re editing your own work or incorporating notes.
Tracked changes (suggesting mode)
Section titled “Tracked changes (suggesting mode)”Turn on suggesting mode and your edits are recorded as suggestions — insertions and deletions you can review later — rather than changing the text outright. Accept or reject each change individually, or all at once.
Revision passes
Section titled “Revision passes”A revision pass is a named round of review (for example, “Line edit” or “Continuity pass”). Scope a pass to the whole project, a folder, or a collection; every suggestion you make while it’s active is tagged to that pass. When you complete a pass, MUSE automatically snapshots the documents it touched, so you always have a record of how things looked before.
Comments
Section titled “Comments”Select text and add a comment anchored to that spot. Comments support threaded replies — useful for notes to yourself or back-and-forth with an editor or beta reader.
Snapshots (version history)
Section titled “Snapshots (version history)”Take a snapshot to freeze a document’s current state. Snapshots let you compare against or roll back to an earlier version at any time. You can lock important snapshots so they’re never automatically pruned. MUSE keeps the most recent snapshots per document automatically.
How it fits together
Section titled “How it fits together”A typical revision cycle:
- Create a revision pass.
- Edit in suggesting mode — your changes are tracked and tagged to the pass.
- Review the suggestions, accepting or rejecting each.
- Complete the pass — MUSE snapshots the affected documents.
- Archive the pass when you’re done.
